Two young men who are being lulled in love, Emma Morley (Anne Hathaway) and Dexter Mayhew (Jim Sturgess) decides to make friends for life right in their graduation day, in summer, July 15, 1988.Dating and even spent the night sleeping with anything they've done. However, yet they still choose the 'friends' rather than formalize their relationship by dating status.
Emma is a smart girl, hard worker, and hold fast to the principle to make the world a better place. Unfortunately, the success of indirect favors him. On the other hand, Dexter live across the street from Emma. Charm and wealth made him always approachable woman. For Dexter, life should be enjoyed.
Twenty years passed, and live separate lives, their relationship suffered ups and downs. But the one who never changed they always meet again on the same date, July 15. Even when they are dating someone else, Emma and Dexter has always found time for a reunion.
